A Ninja-Type^[1] Fiend (or simply called Ninja)^[2] is an enemy in Contra: Rogue Corps.

Description

A freakish large-eyed tall humanoid with its wide maw atop its head and bladed limbs. These creatures strike swiftly with close-range attacks and movements. Dodges are recommended for evasive actions and minor attacking. These creatures can be stunned and thrown for additional damage inflicted.

There are multiple variants:

Standard

Equipped with long chainsaw fingers. Can launch a high aerial spin-strike. There are three colors available (red, green, blue), each color has a chance to inflict a matching affinity with one of their close-range strikes.

Skaters

These types are like the standard variant but have circular saw blades as hands and feet. This shape allows them to "skate" all around the area they are housed in, making them somewhat difficult to target. They sacrifice their aerial strike maneuver for a straightforward spinning ground attack.

Stealth

These ice-blue ninjas possess a stealth function that allows them to bend light on their bodies, turning them invisible. They can still be damaged and stunned however while invisible, and their stealth cloak sometimes vanishes briefly when they are either attacking, stunned, or paralyzed. Their actions and appearance otherwise reflect the chainsaw variant.

Shadow

Appearing in both CON T.U.B.E. and Chaos Finale is a black with purple highlighted Ninja-Type Fiend with chainsaw fingers. This creature moves much faster than the average Ninja-Type and skates around like the circular variant, as well as having slightly more health. It can perform the usual close-range swipe and may unleash a long Blade Wave slash, roaring as it does so. After it performs its acrobatic aerial spin, it immediately follows up with its Blade Wave attack. Although very powerful, it is still susceptible to status ailments due to being a Generic Affinity-based Fiend.
