Manooki (マヌーケ Manūke?) is a recurring enemy in the Contra series. It is an amorphous alien living organism whose only recognizable features are two large mouths from which it spews out harmful acid.
Description
An amorphous alien living organism covered with large tumors whose only barely recognizable features are two opposing mouths.
Appearances
Super C
Manookis only appear in Super C, the NES conversion of Super Contra, in the exclusive Alien Area 2 stage. Once a Manooki detects prey, it will begin to slowly advance toward it while constantly spewing acidic blobs. While not posing a real threat by themselves, Manookis are encountered while descending through the many ledges that comprise the level, which may take the player by surprise, allowing these monsters to corner them in a short time. Furthermore, other enemies tend to appear behind the player while facing these creatures.
