Appearance
Java appears rather large, possessing a whole dark colored humanoid/dragon-like body with four arms and red menacing eyes. This appearance is a drastic change from his usual iconic mainline appearances of either just being a flesh-colored neck or being worm-like all over. Overall, this Java appearance strongly resembles a xenomorph from the Alien franchise (which the Contra series takes inspiration from). It is never seen with legs, making in unknown if the creature possesses any. This is further reflected in its character model, where any type of legs are absent (although it is possible that the creature's lower half is a separate model. Regardless, it is never seen in gameplay at all).

Trivia
- This incarnation of Java mixes elements from Demon Dragon God Java from the original Contra timeline, who was the main antagonist and penultimate boss of the original Contra, as well as from Emperor Demon Gava, who was the main antagonist, final boss, and supreme leader of the Red Falcon forces, introduced in Super Contra, combining both into a new, single character. Physically, Java in Operation Galuga resembles the original Java to some extent, with its head having a worm-like structure and seen from the side, but attack-wise, it more closely resembles most Gava fights from previous titles.
- Ironically in Operation Galuga, Java's heart must be shot at first before facing Java itself, unlike in Contra where the reverse occurs (Java is fought first, then the heart as the final boss).
- Contra III: The Alien Wars also follows the same pattern as Contra, except that the Alien Heart is not the final boss of the game. Although Contra: Hard Corps also follows the original example, there are several bosses in-between the game's interpretation of both Java and Gomeramos King.
- Coincidentally, battling the heart first before Java itself also occurred in Contra: Shattered Soldier.
- Ironically in Operation Galuga, Java's heart must be shot at first before facing Java itself, unlike in Contra where the reverse occurs (Java is fought first, then the heart as the final boss).
- Java's cyclopean brain, which is exposed after the skull is destroyed, is very similar to the Living Brain Organism Searle, who emerged from Gava's destroyed body in Contra III: The Alien Wars and Neo Contra.
- In turn, Java's brain bears a strong resemblance to Mother Brain from the Metroid series (another game inspired by the Alien franchise). Furthering the resemblance is the brain being able to fire energy rings. The overall body with its brain exposed also slightly resembles the large body Mother Brain used in Super Metroid.
- The similarity of the giant arm that protects the Alien Heart during its boss fight in Stage 4, as well as dialogue by Dr. Drake when the monster appears,[1] imply it is the same creature that somehow survived the previous encounter and is now in a completed state, or another one of Varanis's experiments to create a similar creature.
- This iteration of Java also bears some resemblances to General Phoenix's final fused Mega-Fiend form. Both similarly-looking creatures were of towering heights and acted as their respective game's final boss.
